Master Bathroom After

The Lighthouse: Bathrooms

Posted Leave a commentPosted in Home

Not to get stereotypical, but as the only girl in a house with 5 boys, the master bathroom is my sanctuary. I take a hot bath every single night – it’s my self care. Our sweet house also happens to have the smallest master bathroom I’ve ever seen. And it was a hot mess, in keeping with the rest of the house. Notice that hole in the wall above the toilet? Apparently someone put a hole in the wall up here and down in the laundry room below as a makeshift laundry chute, except it was too small for clothing […]

An Icy Waterfall, Snowy Mountain, Island Lighthouse & Freakin’ Rainforest

We have made it our family mission to explore the hell out of this gorgeous state and Washington is not disappointing us. If you are feeling some wanderlust and craving adventure, start by exploring your own state! What adventures does it hold for your family that you haven’t yet tapped? Snoqualmie Falls This waterfall, covered in ice, was breathtaking. Watching the kayakers down at the bottom gave me such a perma-grin. We read through the signage and learned about hydropower while huddling together in the cold wind. And can we please talk about the town that houses this waterfall? North […]

The Lighthouse: Great Room

The great room in this house really lives up to its name. It’s the reason we fell in love with this place and I am so excited to share it with you. Last time, we had the big kitchen reveal and now you get to see the rest of her space siblings that make up the great room: dining, living, (homeschool,) and foyer. Let’s begin underfoot. The floors of this house were a hot mess. There were giant holes straight down to the lower level (from a massive fireplace that was removed) and a mix of nasty old carpet, scrap […]

If you’ve been following along with our journey from San Diego to Seattle here on the blog or on Instagram, you know we’ve been having quite an adventure and have purchased our first home that West affectionately dubbed The Lighthouse. We passed on okay house after okay house and then were introduced to and purchased the ugliest and most dilapidated house we saw – part visionary, part crazy. We bid farewell to our gypsy existence and moved our 3 children and puppy in with some sleeping bags and a suitcase on the concrete basement floor. We knew the place needed a massive facelift. “It’s […]

Big Move

Sage Parenting began 8 years ago with my graduation from MFT grad school and the birth of my second son. The early years of this passionate expression of my life’s work revolved largely around in person support, building my brand here in San Diego. Over the years as my expertise and experience has grown and evolved, support has shifted to virtual, allowing me to help guide thousands of families around the whole world through my email coaching, books, and ecourses. As my family enters a new season of adventures, the nest of operations is shifting to the Pacific Northwest. You’ll […]

Unschool Family Adventure: Seattle

Posted Leave a commentPosted in Adventure

After flying into Portland and adventuring for 3 days, we drove up to Seattle. On the way, we stopped at a park to play with dear friends. There is something so indescribably special about having friends all over the world. Your world of emotional connection expands with every meaningful friendship. Home for the next 3 days. Airbnb is a game changer of amazingness (especially for the budget conscious). Fatherhood on Father’s Day in downtown Seattle for the Underground Tour. This was my favorite touristy thing we did. We all learned so much! “History class was boring because they weren’t teaching […]
